Welcome to the help center this will help you with all sorts of forum and website questions from the basics to more advanced things around here so let's get started!
First we will head right to the start if you already know what you're doing at this point please feel free to skip down.
1.0 How to register an account*
On the homepage if go up to the top there should be a login and register link click the register link and then you will be taken to our secure registration page.
First of all it will ask you for an email address make sure you enter this in correctly as your we will send an activation code to your email that you will need to verify later.
After you have entered your email into it will ask you to verify it again to make sure you entered it correctly. After you have done that it will ask you to create a password your password can be at least 6 letters at minimum I recommend using mixed letters and numbers and make your password complex for example do not use passwords like these 123456789 or qwerty.
Once entered created a password and verified it will ask you for a name this will be your display name if you like on the forum it dose not have to be your real life name.
In compliance with children online protection act you must be over 13 to use our forums you must enter your date of birth in order to continue once doing that enter your gender.
Once done that then your must select a forum username this is the name that will be shown on your posts and topics made in the forum and also will be the username you login in with along with your password that you created as well. Please note when creating a username you can only use certain characters 0-9 and A-Z it may only contain 20 characters at max.
One last thing you must agree to the proboards terms of service you need to tick the box in order to accept the terms and conditions and then click continue if you would like to read them you can read it here: www.proboards.com/tos
Then it will ask you to fill out the captcha just type what it says in the white box then click submit.
You will be taken to the activation page a activation key will be sent to your email make sure you check your junk mail and normal Inbox. Once you find it open it up and there will be a activation key you will notice on this page there will be a box for a activation key copy and paste your activation into the box.
If for some reason you have not recieved the email check your email you will notice there is a small tab in the top right hand corner to click to change your email address in case you entered it incorrectly if done and entered in the activation key click Activate. And you will have created your account!
1.1 How to login*
To login on the homepage go to the top right on the navigation bar and click login.
You will be redirected to our secure login portal it will ask you for two things*
Username and password
Enter in both and then click on Continue then you are logged in.
1.2 How to navigate around the website*
On the homepage you will have something called the navigation bar you have a couple of tabs i will now explain in detail what each tab dose*
Home tab takes you to the homepage which is also the forum button.
Members tab takes you to the members list.
Profile tab takes you to your own profile where you can edit it.
Help tab takes you to the help center where we have answers to almost all questions about our website a forum.
Calendar tab takes you to the calendar where you can see the latest events happening in the Dubstep world.
Search tab allows you to search for threads posts and things around the website using keywords.
The messages tab shows your private message click to check if you have any.
1.3 Forum information and statistics*
This section is designed to do is the following things.
Show how many people are online*
Active users in the last 24 hours*
How many Forum posts and topics there are on the forum currently*
Also people's birthdays*
1.4 You and your profile*
If you click the profile on the navigation bar at home you will go to your user control panel from here you can do numerous things these include:
Update your status*
Updating your status is like saying to people on the forum what your last activity was so you're in a way letting other people know what you are doing keeping them up to date.
See your own activity*
See what you have been posting and what you have been doing on the forums.
Follow people*
You can see who is following you and who would like you to follow and are currently following this feature is like a friend request and see what your friends are doing as well with their current activity.
Friends*
See your friends that you have added on the forum and takes actions like send them a private message.
Notofications*
You can see who has visited your profile actions people have taken people who sent you messages or maybe even following you.
Groups*
you can see what group you are in or what group other people are in.
1.5 How to create a forum thread*
To create a forum thread you need to go to the section you would like to create it in once there click the button that said create a thread and then the editor will come up where you can create your post.
Then once finished typing up the thread and creating thread click create thread button at the bottom.
Then you will have posted your message do not forget to add a title which you can do at the subject bar.
1.6 How to reply to a forum thread*
Find the thread you want to reply to you can do two things at this point:
You can use the quick reply and type a message then once done click the post quick reply*
Or click reply full the full editor for more posting features with all the bbcode add-ons and smileys*
1.7 How to Private message other users*
Go to navigation bar members tab then click the username you would like to private message now you should be viewing their profile now there should be a button or link in there that says send a message.
1.8 How to view your Private messages*
Click messages tab on the navigation bar here you will be able to see messages that people have sent you.
1.9 Where can i find the global rules*
Click the tab in the navigation bar that says Global Rules.
2.0 What are the like and dislike buttons*
There are for a user's reputation if you like someones thread or post or found it helpful give it like if on the other hand you did not like dislike it please note you can only give someone reputation every 5 minutes.
